Huntting Inn

Expansive and historic inn and grounds in East Hampton Village.

Huntting Inn

A magnificent elm tree shades the lawn of this 300-year-old inn, which is named after its original eighteenth-century owner. The quaint atmosphere is enhanced with a white picket fence and a nicely tended garden. A landmark, this property resides in the oceanfront village of East Hampton, which enhances its provincial charm. As for the inn itself, it is a well-kept white house with contrasting rows of neat black shutters. The interior conveys a country rather than beach vibe. The décor and furniture follow in the same fashion. Provençal French armchairs, pretty floral quilts and matching wallpaper create a feminine, but not too frilly, setting. Adding to the inn's attractions is Palm Restaurant steakhouse, right on the grounds. It is the original Palm with several New York City outposts and has seen a colorful and prominent clientele. Despite the lures of the high season, autumn is probably the best time of year to stay. The crowds are gone, and fun activities include lantern tours and pumpkin picking.
