LaGuardia Airport Hotel
Convenience, comfort and a cozier-than-expected interior.
Formerly the Wyndham Garden Hotel, LaGuardia Airport Hotel serves up business traveler comforts at a very reasonable price. Though the hotel's 1970s-ish exterior --- a round building sitting next to a long box of a building --- may not inspire visions of great warmth, the interior is surprisingly friendly. Wood and earth tones make for a cozier experience than one would expect. Rooms are basic but the necessities are there. Considering the hotel's low price, it's hard to believe rates also include Wi-Fi, daily newspaper and an airport shuttle. This is, after all, still NYC. Though there is a restaurant in the hotel, guests should treat themselves to a car service (or a ride on the Q66 bus) to nearby Jackson Heights for some of the city's best (and super budget-friendly) Indian, Colombian or Peruvian restaurants.
