New York Renaissance Home & Guesthouse
Uptown Victorian styling in historic Hamilton Heights.
This early twentieth-century Beaux Arts gem was once a retreat for New York's well-to-do. Today, remnants of its past remain in its latest incarnation: an elegant Victorian guesthouse. The seven ornate bedrooms (with names such as The Gold Room and The Blue Room) are decorated with turn-of-the-last-century furnishings and design details, which include fireplaces, Tiffany stained glass, Chinese decorative arts and intricate architectural moldings. Guests need not sacrifice modern convenience for charm, though. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, coffee, tea and assorted snacks on arrival. A private backyard garden offers patio seating for relaxation after a day of sightseeing. There is also a pleasant indoor living room. Complimentary breakfast is prepared every morning by the house cook.
