Night Hotel Times Square at 47th Street
A chic midtown hotel with hot destination dining.
Vikram Chatwal doesn’t seem to slow down. The young, attractive New York-based Indian hotelier has a proclivity for opening hip one-named hotels, from Dream to Night. This particular property was masterfully constructed out of what was a mediocre Quality Inn near Times Square. Night's public areas are bedecked in a style that can only be described as chaos meets cool, as sometimes vibrant, sometimes plush colors clash and wild light fixtures jet out from the ceiling. The in-house Aspen Social Club is sceney, but serves up satisfying small plates. The 218 rooms are a high-tech lovers dream: interactive LCD display allows guests to order room service via touch screen, Skype-enabled telephones, iPod docking stations, and 42-inch flat-screen TVs. Mix in 300-thread-count sheets, feather duvets, and L’Occitane products and you’ve got a near-perfect marriage of technology and comfort.
