A lovely little European-style gem on the Upper East Side.
Under the direction of Willow Hotels, this 1931 gem was made over by Annette Jaffe, a residential designer whose goal was to create a homey un-hotel-like atmosphere. The 50 guest rooms are small and have a French country house meets urban apartment feel, painted in Tiffany box blue and decorated with original works by acclaimed fashion photographer Deborah Turbeville. The accommodations come with complimentary Wi-Fi, Philosophy bath accessories, flat-screen televisions, iHome Radio for iPod, Lodgenet Interactive On-Demand Movies, safes, irons and ironing boards, daily newspaper delivery and Frette cotton terry bathrobes. The cozy breakfast room, reminiscent of an English teahouse, is the setting for a complimentary European buffet breakfast that includes a spread of cheeses, meats and pastries. After a day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art or Central Park, unwind with a newspaper in the reading room while enjoying the complimentary wine and artisanal cheese reception. Free round-the-clock espresso and cappuccino service is available. The hotel is pet friendly.
