de Hirsch Residence
Modest but comfy extended-stay accommodations at reasonable rates.

Most New Yorkers know this complex as the sight of frequent (if not overpriced) literary readings. Much like its Christian counterpart, this Jewish organization offers a variety of services. Most guests are long-term residents: college students, young professionals new to the city and international interns. Kitchen and laundry facilities are available on each floor. The fully furnished rooms, some shared, house guests age 18 to 45 and accommodate over 350 men and women. Accommodations are slightly spartan yet comfortable and have climate control. All rooms have shared bathrooms, Internet access, weekly maid service and 24-hour security. Some rooms have great views. Shared rooms are only for those 28 or younger of age. Internet access in the Buttenweisser Library and a TV in the dining room help guests stay entertained during down time. Stays here include discounts at a fitness center (including a 25-yard swimming pool) and frequent YMHA concerts.
