A classic spa resort and sports center located in historic Lake Placid Olympic Village.
In the town where the 1932 Winter Olympics were held, this inn carries on a year-round sporting spirit. It dates back to 1924 and is the sight of the first electronic rope-tow, first bobsled and first snow-making machine. Here you will find everything expected from a good spa resort, including treatment facilities, sauna and heated outdoor and indoor pools. As well, you can skate on the Olympic Oval, ski, bobsled or ride a luge. During the summer, tennis, canoe trips, fishing and bike tours round out the activity menu. The large range of room prices reflects the equally large range of room types. The classic rooms are tastefully arrayed in contemporary American Arts and Crafts style, while larger accommodations and suites boast Adirondack décor and offer such luxury amenities as whirlpool baths and private balconies looking over the lake. The tone is casual at in-house Cottage Café. Billed as a pub, it’s popular for après-ski or post-bike ride drinks.
