A superb vacation spot on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

The Cypress House Inn

Built in the 1940s as a hunting and fishing lodge, this seaside inn has six guest rooms and a comfy, homey atmosphere. It has been in operation since 1977 and is known for its unique cypress tongue-and-groove paneled walls and ceilings. The accommodations are cheery and all feature private shower baths and cable TV; as well, Internet access is available. The smell of freshly brewed coffee and homemade breads wakes guests each morning. The Atlantic Ocean is just 150 yards away, and the inn is happy to furnish towels and chairs for a lazy day of sunbathing. Nearby sights include the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, Wright Brothers National Museum, Fort Raleigh Historical Site and North Carolina Aquarium.
