Old North Durham Inn
A bit of local history in a peaceful, residential neighborhood.
This is the first bed and breakfast to open in the city. The early 1900s Colonial Revival-style home is surrounded by an iron fence in a residential area. It is within five miles of Duke University, The Carolina Theatre and the Durham Bulls Ballpark. Research Triangle Park is 20 minutes away. The wraparound porch is a lovely place to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a homemade cookie from the jar that is always full. The rooms are well-appointed, and some have fireplaces. The Family Suite has a desk area, private bath with tub and shower, and an adjoining room with a double bed. Upstairs there is a sitting area where guests will find a video library, scores of magazines and an extensive reference library devoted to local interests. The downstairs parlor offers a peaceful, historic atmosphere with its oak flooring, coffered ceiling, fireplace and piano.
