The Milner Inn, Raleigh
A super-economical way to visit Raleigh.
This one-story facility feels a bit like a strip mall with the long overhang above its entryways and the parking lot out front. But for those seeking decent, super-cheap lodgings, this place pulls through. The property is just inside the Raleigh Beltline, convenient to Research Triangle Park, North Carolina State University Durham and Chapel Hill. Both the room furnishings and the outdoor swimming pool bring to mind roadside motels of the 1970s. There is no end to the discounts offered here. Families get a break, since two children under 16 can stay free with their folks, and each additional child is only $5 per night. In addition, truck drivers, AARP members and active-duty personnel receive 10 percent off the rates. This isn’t a bad deal, considering that a free continental breakfast is served each morning.
