White Eagle Hotel
A rock 'n' roll crash site for travelers on a budget.
When this watering hole opened in 1905, Portland was a rollicking boomtown with a reputation for fun. A century later, the place is still rocking. In the last few decades, the White Eagle has hosted countless rock bands and established itself as one of Portland’s favorite live music venues. Consequently, anyone who stays in one of the hotel’s eleven guest rooms should love loud rock music, which is played live every single night. For broke rockers, this historic building offers clean, safe lodging with a bar and pub grub within staggering distance. The refurbished rooms are sparsely but pleasantly decorated and feature queen or full beds and shared baths. The bunk rooms offer a decent place to crash without the worry of having your shoes stolen while you’re asleep.
