The Inn on the Mexican War Streets
Dramatic, historic lodgings offering local color in a quiet neighborhood.
Inside and out, this property is romantic and brooding. A wrought-iron gate stands sentry in front of the imposing stone façade, while the interior showcases ornate chandeliers, carved fireplaces and four-poster beds. The home once belonged to Russell H. Boggs, who made his fortune in department stores. It maintains the character of a stately private residence from the magnate's opulent era. The eight guest rooms all have private baths. Accommodations include spacious suites and executive suites. Despite the historic atmosphere, guests will find modern comforts such as kitchenettes and office space in some of the rooms. Cable TV and VCRs are also included. Views range from parkland to suburban vistas over what used to be the city of Allegheny. Continental breakfast is included with all stays. The B&B is just minutes from downtown.
