Christopher Dodge House
A patriotic Rhode Island inn featuring handcrafted Early American reproduction furniture.
The Christopher Dodge House was erected in 1858, and after serving as a rental property for more than a century, its current owners (Kenneth and Phyllis Parker and Frank and Monica Hopton) restored it to its “stately grandeur.” Now a luxury bed-and-breakfast, the three-story brick Italianate building features eleven-foot ceilings, intricate plaster molding, original tin ceilings and marble fireplace mantels, as well as a variety of well-appointed guest rooms. The B&B’s rooms come in Standard, Superior and Prime styles, and every room features a Stearns and Foster mattress, reading chair, desk and private bathroom. For guests planning extended stays in Providence, rooms with stoves and kitchenettes are available upon request. A full breakfast is served daily, and guests can also enjoy complimentary access to the nearby Foundry Sports Medicine & Fitness Center, just a five-minute walk away. Although the inn plays into its old-timey American roots with its décor and atmosphere, there is Wi-Fi Internet throughout the property, and guest rooms are outfitted with TVs and cable.
