Traditional B&B charm in the heart of a major city.
The clock has been turned back in ever-modern Houston at this 1940s-style B&B filled with antique furnishings. Highlights include sitting rooms and tranquil views of verdant grounds that have hosted their share of weddings. And while the ambience takes travelers to another era, amenities keep up with the present day and include free wireless Internet, refrigerators and DVD players. Built in 1905, the B&B is in the historic Heights neighborhood five miles northwest of downtown. Its most recent renovation was in 2007. Though centrally located, it is not near any freeways, and most major attractions require driving time. That said, there are a few shops and six restaurants in the area.
