Wythe Hotel

80 Wythe Ave. (N. 11th St.) Brooklyn NY

A turn-of-the-last-century factory transformed into a hotspot in the city's coolest part of town.

Wythe Hotel

Once populated by abandoned factories and small unremarkable dwellings, Williamsburg has turned into a must-visit on virtually every NYC itinerary for the alt-hip, conscientiously cool and deconstructed sophisticate. It's a formidable culinary and nightlife rival to Manhattan, so it should be no surprise that chic hotels are the next step in its urban evolution. Case in point: Wythe Hotel. This property is all about the art of preservation. The former factory's brick structure remains intact, and its wood has been recycled into furniture. Décor elements pay homage to the building's industrial beginnings with cast-iron railings, exposed wood beams and other retro accents; all of this comes together with designs from local and independent artists to create a unique, independent and consummately Brooklyn identity. The 72 renovated rooms have a residential feel and range from double rooms and lofts to four- and six-person "band" rooms equipped with bunks. Amenities include seasonal mini-bars, private terrace access (in some rooms) and Wi-Fi. Reynaud's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and offers an eclectic menu of inventive, locally sourced cuisine. The rooftop terrace promises outstanding views.
