This full-service, family-friendly resort is brought to you compliments of Anheuser-Busch.
When Anheuser-Busch developed this area, one of its greatest contributions was this resort, which blends in nicely with the surrounding neighborhood. The contemporary complex sits beside the James River and offers a full tennis center, sports center, marina, The Kingsmill Golf Academy and two championship golf courses, one of which (designed by Pete Dye) is home to the Kingsmill Championship on the LPGA Tour.
Because of its proximity to Busch Gardens, the resort is filled during the summer months with vacationing families (an activity-packed kids club and unique programs for young ones are available). For those in town to tour, a courtesy shuttle is offered to Colonial Williamsburg year-round and to Busch Gardens in season. Business groups dominate the guest list during the rest of the year. With 16 meeting rooms, the private conference level has a generous selection of lounges and break areas. Relics from local archaeological digs, including the Kingsmill Plantation, are displayed in the conference center, and the private Pettus House is available for special events and corporate retreats.
Accommodations consist of villa-style guest rooms, condos up to three bedrooms each, Cottages on the James and private guest homes. The guest rooms and condos are nicely decorated in a streamlined traditional style, while the cottages and guest homes have an upscale residential feel. Standard guest room amenities include private balconies or patios, Keurig coffee makers, safes and multi-line phones, with additional extras in the larger lodgings.
For house dining, a range of restaurants includes Elements 1010 (seasonal comfort food), James Landing Grille (regional, sustainable seafood) and The Mill (baked goods and coffee). After a day on the greens, Eagles is a popular spot for menus featuring locally sourced products, and Currents offers casual fare by the pool.
