Windmill Inn Motel
Go Dutch in a Western Washington hotel.
This small, basic hotel sits on the edge of a farming town that was settled by Dutch farmers and former gold prospectors. The nearby downtown area offers views of Mt. Baker; it looks cute and Holland-like, complete with windmills and cobblestone streets, without beating visitors over the head with its heritage. Decorated in a Dutch theme, this 15-room hotel is a favorite with fans of the Northwest Washington Fair in mid-August. The rooms have all the basics including queen beds, refrigerators and cable TV. In fact, the only thing that makes this property stand out from a standard motel is the windmill out front.
