Take a glimpse at homeland security of the past.

Fort Casey Inn

This inn offers a peek at the country’s patriotic past. It resides in restored officer’s housing in a fort that was used to defend Admiralty Inlet during World War I. The parade grounds and old barracks are close enough to give visitors a taste of turn-of-the-century military life, but this isn’t boot camp, by any means. The property is popular for family reunions and weddings. The inn features nine, two-bedroom, Georgian Revival-style homes that were built 1909. All are individually decorated with antiques and patriotic memorabilia from the era. The grounds of the fort include a lighthouse, bunkers, beaches, trails and views of natural landmarks that include the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the Olympic Mountains.
