Valley views in a pastoral island setting.
This large contemporary home is located in one of the prettiest valleys on San Juan Island. The place gives guests the feeling they are visiting old friends, rather than staying at a bed and breakfast. The property encompasses views of pastureland, a wildlife sanctuary and a pond frequented by the trumpeter swans that give the inn its name. The inn’s six individually decorated rooms display shabby chic furniture and include private baths with massage showerheads. Two of the rooms have fireplaces and private decks. Since the owners live in a building nearby, guests have the run of the inn. A range of sweets, from brownies to coffee cake, are served every afternoon. Coffee, tea and cold drinks are available around the clock. This is one of the few inns on the island with a wheelchair-accessible room. The owners have added a massage therapy suite.
