Watch the whales without leaving your room.
This comfortable, rustic hotel is located near one of the largest public docks in the small fishing village of Westport. The rooms may be spartan, but the views of the water make up for the lack of style. This is an inexpensive, informal seaside resort where the emphasis is on relaxation and escape. One fun perk---you can buy or rent crab rings and fishing gear, and the hotel will cook and clean any crabs you catch. The resort offers seven rooms and seven cottages, and it added 30 RV hookups and private marina access in 2004. The rooms are on the second floor and have rustic, nautical themes. Amenities include kitchenettes and large picture windows, many with views of Grays Harbor. Some of the cottages are within 15 to 20 feet of the water and have decks looking onto the bay. The cottages include full-size kitchens.
