A history of hospitality in the Olympic National Park.

Lake Crescent Lodge

This 1916 stick-frame lodge is surrounded by large hemlock and fir trees in a Swiss Alps-type setting in the Olympic National Park. It sits on the shore of a picturesque glacier-fed lake and serves as a base camp for travelers who’ve come to take day trips throughout the park. This seasonal inn once attracted the likes of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Open from April to October, the property features 52 accommodations in a variety of types. Lodge rooms, for example, are on the second floor of the historic building and feature views of the lake. There is a wide selection of cottages along the water, some of which include fireplaces. As well, standard hotel-style rooms are available. Among the most popular lodgings are the Roosevelt Fireplace Cottages, which were built to house FDR’s entourage during his visit.
