Moby Dick Hotel & Oyster Farm
Step back into the 1930s at this small-town country inn with a yurt.
Don’t let the new-age yurt by the side of the house throw you off. Stepping through the door is like entering a time warp back to a simpler, gentler era. Those who stay here say they feel as if they’ve come home, even if they have never been to Willapa Bay before. The rooms may be modest, but most visitors spend their time in the common areas that include a locally loved and nationally praised restaurant. The inn has eight simple, individually decorated rooms, some with private baths and most with their own themes. The train room features posters of trains, for example. The inn’s nicest room has a queen bed with a soaking tub and a view of the bay from a small balcony. The wooded property also has a Japanese sauna overlooking the bay, organic gardens and a solar hot water system. As for the yurt, it offers a unique setting for health and yoga retreats, small parties and business meetings.
