The Bacon Mansion Bed & Breakfast
A Tudor mansion surrounded by English gardens on trendy Capitol Hill.
Manicured gardens and a patio with a fountain surround this Tudor mansion, which sits pretty on a leafy street near Volunteer Park. Built in 1909, this B&B boasts a spacious and bright first-floor parlor with plush furniture, a grand piano, an original leaded glass library and a uniquely tiled fireplace. Each of the nine guest rooms and two suites is decorated with antiques and art. Several rooms have hideaway or day beds in addition to queen-size beds. The Capitol Suite has a four-poster king bed and a queen bed in an attached sun room, which also features a carved oak fireplace. The Iris Room and the Cabin Room share a bathroom. Upstairs, the former servants’ quarters have been converted to a guest loft. The detached, refurbished carriage house offers more roomy quarters. Continental breakfast and Wi-Fi are complimentary. While the benefits here outweigh any down sides, it's important to note that the hotel has no air-conditioning for those visitors planning a trip in July or August.
