Rusty Parrot Lodge & Spa
A ski retreat for couples' weekends and honeymooners.
Drawing crowds from September through March, this picturesque ski chalet is a favorite for romantic getaways. It is home to the indulgent Body Sage Day Spa and the notable Wild Sage restaurant, whose dinner dishes reflect the flavors of the region---herb-rubbed elk tenderloin and leg of pheasant confit can be found on the menu. The dining room has a river stone fireplace and individual, country-style tables. It’s the site for the generous complimentary breakfast that may include, depending on the day, French toast, Russian eggs benedict or homemade granola. The bedrooms are exceptionally pretty. Accent pieces in some include woven, Native American rugs and twig and log side tables and bed frames, but these rustic touches steer clear of parodying the expected look of a quintessential Old West lodge. And while you may find a floral print here or there, you won’t encounter anything jarring. Standout rooms include kings with fireplaces and Jacuzzis. Of note: the garden level rooms are on a lower level, with the ground outside just beneath the window sills.
