This historic country manor house has been delightfully reimagined by notable hotel designer Olga Polizzi.

Suite 18 at Hotel Endsleigh

There is something intrinsically romantic about an English country hotel, especially one that blends the best of its storied past with upscale contemporary design. Owned by acclaimed designer Olga Polizzi, sister of legendary hotelier Sir Rocco Forte, Hotel Endsleigh once belonged to the Duke of Bedford. The 18-room property sits amid formal gardens, grottos and follies (outdoor conversation pieces) designed by Humphry Repton, considered to be the last great English landscape designer of the 18th century. Each individually styled room is delicate without being fussy, and our favorite is the thatched gatekeeper's lodge, with a wood-burning stove and private garden. The candlelit restaurant offers a tranquil setting for a quiet meal after a day spent strolling the charming market town of Tavistock, touring National Trust homes or horseback riding across the moors.
