An Italian palace within walking distance of St. Patrick's Cathedral.
Guests enter this hotel through tall iron gates via a courtyard lit by Florentine lanterns. The heart of it is the Italian Renaissance-style Villard Mansion designed in 1882, which houses private event spaces. Just off the lobby, Pommes Palais is a patisserie and café offering pastries and tarts. Sadly, the bakery does not offer room service. Two lounges, Troubles Trust and Tavern on 51, blend in beautifully with the hotel's design, evoking Old World style with classic décor and cocktails. Public spaces are rich with architectural details including coffered ceilings, bronze doré moldings, mosaics, murals and stained glass by Tiffany. Fireplaces include a beauty in the upper lobby crafted by Augustus St. Gaudens. Accommodations are largely located in the artfully integrated, 55-story reflective glass tower. Rich woods and marble baths grace Towers Corner Suites and Towers One Bedroom Suites; guests in these enjoy a private reception area and butler service. The Executive rooms have a lounge, and Deluxe rooms in the main hotel are equally large and comfortable.
