The Magic Kingdom goes Hawaiian at this classic Disney resort on the beach.
Aloha, Disney! This kid-tastic resort resides on the island of Oahu at Ko Olina — a master planned holiday community with a golf club, shops and a marina for sports fishing and recreational boating. The beachfront property owes its style to Walt Disney Imagineers, who created a destination that celebrates the history, culture and artwork of the islands. Along with tropical gardens, a swimming grotto and a private saltwater snorkeling lagoon on the 21-acre grounds, natural features cross into the architecture, beginning with lava rock incorporated into the cathedral-like lobby.
Accommodations include a combination of 351 guest rooms (including 16 suites), 462 Disney Vacation Club Villas and 19 grand villas. Décor showcases wood, thatch, lava rock and coral, as well as such unique details as outrigger canoe posts and beams. Younger guests will love hunting for “hidden Mickeys” in the pineapple-patterned Hawaiian quilts and wall coverings. The resort offers the tween-and-under set a daily character breakfast and a kids' club: Aunty’s Beach House. Fire pit storytelling, guided art tours and evening hula dance performances are just a few of the resort's complimentary cultural activities. Rounding out the facilities are the island-formal ‘AMA‘AMA restaurant, numerous casual eateries, the Laniwai Spa with an outdoor hydrotherapy garden and massive meeting and event spaces with stunning outdoor venues.
