A family-owned and operated hotel with elegant Creole style.
There's a homey feel about this place, and for good reason. The owner, Frank S. Rochefort, Jr., lives on the premises. Opened in 1969, it's among the genre of New Orleans' family-operated establishments boasting its own unique personality. The 88 rooms are decorated with elegant mirrors, ceiling fans, bold colors and original artwork. Many have balconies. Pop music fans should ask for the Paul McCartney Suite. The ex-Beatle and his family stayed at the hotel for two months in the late 1970s while he was recording at Allen Toussaint's studio with the Meters, a New Orleans-based group. The restaurant, between the courtyard pool and the bar, offers good, traditional breakfasts and a lunch menu of sandwiches and salads. The large, adjacent, self-service parking lot allows unlimited in-out privileges.
