Based on a true story, Sunny Pawar of "Slumdog Millionaire" fame plays the role of Saroo Brierley, a young boy separated from his family in 1986.

If you don't have a few tears in your eyes by the end of "Lion," you need to have your pulse checked because you just might not be human. This Garth Davis-helmed drama follows the real-life story of Saroo Brierley, who as a five-year-old boy was tragically separated from his family and ended up lost on the streets of Calcutta in 1986. His story of survival and resilience is incredible, brought to life by a prodigy of a child actor named Sunny Pawar and as an adult by Dev Patel ("Slumdog Millionaire," "The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel") in a beautifully realized film of self-discovery that also co-stars Nicole Kidman as Saroo's adoptive Australian mother.
