Set in 1958, "Loving" follows the history of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple in Virginia.

Another fact-based story translated into a finely crafted film, "Loving" follows the history of Richard and Mildred Loving. Falling in love in 1958, the interracial couple (he was white, she was black) was prohibited from marrying in their home state of Virginia. They married anyway (in the District of Columbia) and returned to their home, where they were arrested for violating the state's anti-miscegenation laws. What followed changed America in fundamental ways, but more importantly, it makes us understand that love really can conquer all. Stars Ruth Negga and Joel Edgerton bring the couple to life in a completely believable way, which is why both actors are high on award season nominee lists.
