7. Kismet - TRENDY

Mama Lion in Koreatown puts a contemporary spin on the supper club. Amid the glamorous décor, guests can snack on hamachi tartare, crispy avocado samosas or truffled white bean hummus or share larger plates such as pan-fried jidori chicken schnitzel.

Chef Ricardo Zarate merges traditional Peruvian food with California sensibilities at Rosaliné in West Hollywood. Sip on Pisco cocktails and nibble on fresh ceviches, but be sure to leave room for his Peruvian take on paella/fried rice.
11. TAO - TRENDY

After establishing itself as a hotspot in NYC and Las Vegas, it was only natural for TAO to come and try to make it in Hollywood. In this Asian bistro, patrons sip specialty cocktails and sample dim sum, sushi and more in the shadow of a 20-foot-tall Quan Yin statue animated with 3D light projections.
12. Venice Whaler - CLASSIC

Located on the Venice Beach Boardwalk right by the pier, Venice Whaler is a solid choice for eating in a part of town known for its beach atmosphere. Just one of the must-have dishes is the salmon, perfectly cooked and presented on a cedar-smoked plank with kalamata olives and mixed greens.

A strip mall in Encino has become an expected gourmet destination thanks to Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee. Their trio of restaurants includes Scratch Bar & Kitchen, Frankland's Crab & Co. and Woodley Proper, a cocktail lounge where both the food and libations will pique your interest.
