This avenue has come a long way from a "Widow's Alley" to one of the most fashionable areas in Paris.
Approximately 2,000 feet long, the posh Avenue Montaigne is one of the most fashionable areas of Paris. Here you can find the stores of renowned designers such as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Armani, Dior, Prada and Nina Ricci. The luxurious reputation of the avenue is aided by the presence of the Plaza Athénée, one of the oldest hotels in the city, opened in 1913 and still a haven for stars and millionaires.
The Théâtre des Champs-Elysées is another upscale venue, where classical concerts are held behind its Art Deco façade. Much appreciated by business travelers, the Maison Blanche restaurant is located on its roof and offers stunning city views. The Pont de l'Alma and the banks of the Seine appear at one end of the avenue and the Champs-Elysées at the other.
