A view of Bolívar Park in Medellín

Full of history, the park was named after Simón Bolívar. A statue of the famous liberator was created by Giovanni Anderlini and erected in 1923. The park is a significant part of the city and for a long time, prominent families lived around it.

The Metropolitan Cathedral is located here and every Sunday the Symphonic Band of the University of Antioquia performs classical and folk music concerts, making for a wonderful place to spend an afternoon.
