Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego

MCASD La Jolla is temporarily closed for renovations. Reopening date is TBD.

The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego has two locations — La Jolla and downtown San Diego.

Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego attracts a diverse crowd with activities that appeal to all ages

The grounds of the La Jolla galleries and sculpture garden were once the former residence of philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps, a founding donor of many prominent Southern California institutions. Both feature compelling exhibits, events and educational programs that give the public access to works from local and international artists. The museum attracts a diverse crowd with activities that appeal to all ages.

Sit in on a lecture or take a guided tour at the gallery in La Jolla, or catch the scene at Thursday Night Thing, a signature event at the downtown location held three times a year where guests can enjoy live music and check out art while sipping a cocktail. The museum also presents various family-oriented programs to engage parents and children. While you're visiting, enjoy a meal at La Jolla's Museum Café, a European-inspired bistro serving gourmet cuisine provided by Giuseppe Restaurant & Fine Catering.
