This museum examines the art, history and culture of African-Americans. Various parts of the extensive permanent collection are always on view, including African art (masks, carvings), 19th-century African-American landscape paintings, contemporary art from the African Diaspora and even relics from the estate of noted figures, such as renowned jazz performer Ella Fitzgerald. There are changing exhibits as well.
