The stars are always out at LA's iconic observatory.
Located high atop a hill in the urban oasis of Griffith Park, L.A.'s iconic observatory is famed for its Art Deco architecture, commanding city views and notable appearance in the 1955 James Dean film, "Rebel Without a Cause." Here you can learn about the cosmos and view the stars and planets through telescopes. Visit the planetarium for live shows with digital projection, theatrical lighting and sound. The rear deck boasts magnificent panoramic views from Downtown to the Hollywood Sign, and — on a clear day — vistas extend all the way to the Pacific Ocean. With the exception of some shows, admission to the Griffith Observatory is always free.
