If you are heading to the Hollywood Bowl on a Wednesday or a Sunday this summer, arrive earlier to allow time to enjoy a complimentary wine or beer tasting before the show. Wine director Caroline Styne, who with her food + wine partner Suzanne Goin have been in charge of the catering program at the Hollywood Bowl since 2016, has selected artisanal wine and beer makers for you to discover. The evening I went, I was greeted by wine professional Keith Fox who was pouring a Viognier and a Syrah by Shokrian Vineyard, based in Los Alamos, CA. Founder and owner Babak Shokrian was even there. After a career in movie production, Shokrian had a change of heart. Since 2015, he has been farming wine grapes in an eco-friendly environment, using sustainable as well as organic and biodynamic farming practices.

The wine tasting series is by the Plaza Marketplace at the Box Office Plaza, before the security check point. It is held two hours before the performances. Watch our exclusive video interview with Caroline Styne below.
