Mingle with marine life at the Aquarium of the Pacific.
Located on the water in Long Beach, this world-class aquarium is home to more than 11,000 animals of 500 different species. Reflecting the diversity of the Pacific Ocean, spacious habitats replicate its various environments. Watch seals and sea lions frolic, or visit the Shark Lagoon's 150 inhabitants — you can even pet some of them in the touch pools. Get close to more than a dozen Magellan penguins in the Penguin Habitat. Check out the Tropical Reef Habitat's enormous tank, where more than 1,000 fish swim alongside sharks and sea turtles. While you're in Long Beach, you might want to visit the nearby Queen Mary, a luxury cruise liner dating back to the 1930s. You can take a guided tour, stay in its floating hotel or grab dinner and drinks at one of several bars and restaurants on board.
