Segway of Hawaii

Glide ride tours throughout Oahu including Diamond Head and Honolulu.

Glide your way through Waikiki with Segway of Hawaii

By Alain Gayot

The Segway: everyone seems to know its name, although few people have experienced this curious device. These much-touted, futuristic machines had a tough beginning, but they are definitely here to stay. Besides applications including law enforcement and warehouse inventory control, beach communities are offering Segway experiences and Honolulu is no exception. It's a great way
to check out Waikik

If you have an extra $100 or so, you can treat yourself to a fun afternoon along the shores of the Pacific. You will learn how to master the device and about the history of Hawaii thanks to an expert tour guide…and you'll get a bit of exercise in the process. Tours start with a training session—usually one guide per five people maximum—and as soon as everyone is comfortable, it's off you go! There is a progressive approach to technical skills, and during
your ride you'll go from the easiest mode to the most challenging one. The Segways reach a maximum speed of 16 mph. Tours are conducted on basic machines, but at the end you will have a chance to jump on the more rugged X2. The Segway experience is totally fun, safe and well worth every penny.

Tours include Diamond Head Waikiki Tour, Sunset on the Beach Tour, Honolulu History and Culture Tour and the Kapiolani Park Glide Ride. Prices range from $75 - $199.
