Father Lamy began construction on this church in 1869. It is the only French-architecture church in the city.

When visiting some of Santa Fe's religious attractions, St. Francis Cathedral is one not to overlook. It's an historic Romanesque church built by the famed 19th-century New Mexican prelate Archbishop Jean Baptiste Lamy. Pay special attention to the statue of the Madonna, called La Conquistadora, which was brought to Santa Fe by the Spanish in 1692.
