Inside Cristo Rey Catholic Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Cristo Rey Church was built in 1940 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Francisco Vásquez de Coronado's exploration of the Southwest. A significant feature of the church is the retablo which was crafted by artisans during the 18th century and funded by Governor Franciso Antonio Mari del Valle. It was to be initially placed in the military chapel at Santa Fe plaza. The church still operates today and conducts mass every Sunday as well as throughout the week.
