South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center
Explore the nature center and marine touch tank.
A fascinating place to explore for both adults and children, the South Fork Natural History Museum and Nature Center encompasses two floors of educational and interactive nature exhibits. On the main floor, visitors can watch a video that tells the story of Long Island's glacial formation and see aquatic habitats.
The lower level house amphibians and reptiles, and on the grounds there are three types of gardens: Native Butterfly Garden, Native Wildflower Garden, and Bog Garden. For those that enjoy walks, there are six miles of trails accessible from the museum.
