The exterior of the Museum of Chinese in America

The Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) honors the struggle that Chinese immigrants often faced upon arriving in the United States. Discrimination, the forging of a distinct Chinese-American culture and eventual financial and social success are just a few of the themes explored in the spacious exhibitions halls designed by architect Maya Lin (she also designed the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C.).
