One of the scenic plantations that is a must-see when in Nashville.
The centerpiece of nearby Belle Meade Plantation is a Greek-Revival mansion from the 1850s that's been nicknamed the "queen of Tennessee plantations." Formerly a renowned thoroughbred stud farm, this 30-acre estate once covered more than 5,000 acres.
Tours are led by guides wearing actual period dress, and visitors can walk through the stables as well as the carriage house (which boasts an exquisite antiques collection). There’s also a winery attached, and you can pick up a bottle of their handiwork on site.
