Top 10 Things to Do in Park City in the Summer
Alpine Coaster at the Park City Mountain Resort
In 1963, Park City Mountain Resort (then known as Treasure Mountain) was the first ski resort to open in the area.
The resort, which famously hosted several events during the 2002 Winter Olympics, also happens to be home to Utah’s only Alpine Coaster. Climb aboard one of the toboggan-style cars and admire the stunning Wasatch mountain scenery as an automated lift pulls you up the track. Once you reach the top, the coaster takes you down nearly 4,000 feet of exhilarating curves. You don’t need to be a speed demon to enjoy this ride — each car is equipped with a hand-brake allowing you to regulate your own speed. The Alpine Coaster is accessible from the PCMR’s main trail area, making it a memorable finish to a long day of mountaineering.
If you build up an appetite, Legends Bar & Grill serves up American fare and operates during the summer beginning June 3 to October 2. There's also Baja Cantina if you're craving Mexican food that's open year-round for lunch and dinner. Both are located at the Park City base area.
