Experience pretty woman pampering.
by Alain Gayot
Maybe you can't afford to go shopping on Rodeo Drive, but if you want to feel feted and pampered as Julia Roberts did in the movie Pretty Woman, pay a visit to The Spa at Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills (A Four Seasons Hotel) — the hotel Roberts' character stayed in.
These days, every upscale hotel knows that offering spa facilities to guests and visitors alike is de rigeur, and Spa at Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills is no exception. In 2006, as part of the hotel's overall $35 million refurbishment, the 8,000 square-foot spa was redesigned with a curved water wall embracing an amethyst crystal geode.
Arrive at the Spa 30 minutes prior to your scheduled treatment and hand over your car and your cares to the valet parking attendant. Entering the spa, allow the soothing piped music and the aromatic scents to envelop you as you head for a leisurely detox in the Aromatherapy Crystal Steam Room. Rinse off in the Ice Fountain before indulging in the Experience Shower. Let the soothing adjustable jets of “Atlantic Rain” or “Pacific Wind” cascade down your body before toweling down and preparing for a stress-busting massage.
Choose from classic Swedish and Deep Tissue massages at either 60, 90 or 120 minutes each. If you're feeling more adventurous, indulge in an aromatherapy massage, which use aromatic oils designed to soothe aching limbs. Massages range from $160-$405 depending on the style and length of the treatment.
The Spa also offers a variety of facials with some designed specifically for men. There's also a plethora of body treatments to choose from along with manicures and pedicures. All of the Spa's treatments are guaranteed to alleviate tension, leaving you feeling refreshed and revitalized. On your way out, you'll receive a personalized spa amenity bag filled with goodies such as deodorant, brush, comb, cotton balls, Q-tips, dental floss and a laundry bag.
Armed with your fancy Beverly Wilshire gift bag, maybe you'll find Richard Gere waiting outside to indulge you in a Rodeo Drive shopping spree.
