Best Spas in New York City
Experience the healing powers of Asian-inspired therapies at this Manhattan retreat.
For years, Spa Castle reigned supreme in College Point, Queens, as an enormous sanctuary for Asian-inspired soaks, scrubs and more. For those who don't like making the schlep from the city, its sovereignty recently spread to Manhattan with the opening of Spa Castle Premier 57 — a 39,000-square-foot, three-floor oasis. This latest retreat is equally impressive and offers such unique experiences as a Sauna Valley, which features six types of hot and cold rooms — a healing Himalayan salt, detoxifying infrared, rejuvenating gold, chromatherapy color, invigorating ice igloo, and toxin-busting Loess Soil and charcoal. Other cool offerings include men's and women's lounges with soaking tubs and a spacious hydrotherapy pool area with an assortment of jets that provide water massages for various parts of the body. A swim-up bar allows you to sip on fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies and cocktails. An entire floor is also dedicated to individual treatments, such as caviar facials, mineral-infused body wraps, Shiatsu massages and more. Even better, the spa recently debuted a rooftop outdoor deck complete with a hydrotherapy pool, a toasty 102-degree hot tub, three aromatherapy couple's tubs and breathtaking views of Manhattan.
