Seattle Marriott Waterfront
A prime waterfront location featuring spectacular views.
When Seattle's downtown waterfront area began its renaissance, one thing was missing: a new upscale hotel. That changed with the arrival of this classy Marriott, which bucks the traditional chain format with striking details such as imported Italian glass murals and intricately carved headboards. Within walking distance to the ferries, Pike Place Market and great shopping, it caters to business travelers and cruise line visitors (the city's cruise terminal is just across the street). It's also a nice choice for leisure travelers. The rooms are attractive, stocked with amenities and soundproofed. Best of all, each has some kind of dramatic view, whether of downtown, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic mountain range or all three. Although many rooms come with balconies, they're really too small to sit out on, but being able to open the door to fresh Elliott Bay air (as well as summer concerts on the pier) is a treat. The business facilities include plenty of meeting space, which includes a ballroom for up to 600.

While the majority of barrel-aged beers are made in darker styles such as stout, this honey-colored pale ale breaks free from the norm.
