Kona Brewing Co. Wailua Wheat - Review

For those of us that aren’t going on a Hawaiian holiday this summer, we can still enjoy a taste of the Big Island with Kona Brewing Company’s Limited Release Wailua Wheat. Available in spring and summer, this light and crisp wheat ale will join the ranks of Kona’s other limited production brew, Pipeline Porter.  The refreshing beer gets a tropical twist with the addition of passion fruit (“lilikoi” to the locals), which adds a slightly sweet citrus flavor.  Look for the retro boxes (reminiscent of the old Pan Am travel posters) that feature Wailua Falls on the road to Hana in Maui.
