Firestone Walker Double Jack packs a bitter punch with 85 IBUs

Firestone Walker Brewing Company Double Jack

This 9.5 percent ABV Double IPA is a masterpiece of blending that won a bronze medal at the 2012 and silver at the 2011 Great American Beer Festivals. While its 85 IBUs means it's quite bitter, this pale ale is balanced with an abundance of sweet caramel malt flavor. This sugary flavor intermingles with the grapefruit and pine notes from the collection of Warrior, Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo and Simcoe hops, of which more than four pounds per barrel are added. The hop notes reappear in the finish, with a lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit, such as pineapple and tangerine.

Price: $12 for 4-pack 12 oz. or $8 for 22 oz. bottle
